Detecting incorrect positioning of a carrying cable in cableway by detecting the rotation of a shoe or guide in responce to the cable leaving the cableway

An arrangement for detecting incorrect alignment of a cable on a cableway is disclosed. The arrangement comprises a mount (8) with a channel (3) in which the carrying cable is located, and a device (19) for detecting incorrect positioning of the carrying cable. A portion of the mount (7) defining the channel is movable, for example about an axis parallel with the channel axis thus enabling a rocking motion. The movement of the channel that would indicate an imminent misalignment is detected by the device (19), for example a sensor. The sensor may be electrical, electromagnetic or optical in nature.
