PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic rod enabling comfortable use by evading fixing phenomena even in a long-term use by properly selecting the hardness of the surface when constituting a joint part. SOLUTION: The joining part for holding a butt upper rod 10 and a butt rod 11 in an extended state by bringing the outer periphery of the butt upper rod 10 into contact with the inner periphery of the butt rod 11 by pressurizing is formed. Surface-coated layers 3 comprising a coating material for decoration are formed on the outer periphery of the butt upper rod 10 and the outer periphery of the butt rod 11. An uneven surface layer 9 is formed on either one of the outer periphery of the surface-coated layer 3 of the butt upper rod 10 or the inner periphery of the butt rod 11, and the uneven surface layer 9 is formed out of a coating material for the joint part, having a surface hardness after forming, harder than that of the coating material for the decoration.
