<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of air bubbles in a gel. <P>SOLUTION: A gel forming method has: a sol filling process for filling the cavity part C provided in a cassette 1 for electrophoresis and constituted of a combination of substrates 2a and 2b, with sol Ga; and a gelling process for gelling a sol Ga so as to follow the shape of the cavity part C. The cavity part C is equipped with: a filling nozzle orifice (filling port) 8 for filling the cavity part C with the sol Ga; and a suction nozzle orifice (suction port) 9 for sucking air from the cavity part C, and the filling nozzle orifice 8 and the suction nozzle orifice 9 are sealed by sealing members 7.
