PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating system which can improve the efficiency of power generation by lessening the resistance that a permanent magnet receives from a core at rotation thereby reducing the rotational load torque of a rotor, and can obtain a large generation output by preventing the interference between stator coils and adding power generated in every coil. SOLUTION: The power generating system includes a generator, a first relay switch, and a storage battery. The generator is equipped with a rotor which is attached to a rotating shaft, a first field part in which a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged so that the magnetic poles at the end faces may alternate in the rotational direction of the rotor, first magnetic flux breaking members which are fixed to the end faces of the permanent magnets, a plurality of cores which have first opposed faces opposite to the first magnetic flux breaking members via gaps at the ends and are magnetically insulated individually, and stator coils which are connected to a transformer or a rectifier separately for each coil wound on the core or separately for each coil group in which an AC electromotive force of the same phase is generated. The first relay switch is connected in parallel between the stator coil and the transformer or the rectifier and short-circuits the stator coil.
