PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more simplified method for acquiring television program information. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for communicating television program information, including the steps of establishing communication link between user apparatus and a database of television schedule information, located at a site remote from the user apparatus; communicating television program selection criteria, from the user apparatus to the site remote from the user apparatus; searching the database of the television schedule information, on the basis of the television program selection criteria; deriving program identification data corresponding to television programs meeting the television program selection criteria from the database; and transmitting the program identification data via the communication link to the user apparatus.
