<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control technique for reducing a time difference between timing of switching electric power on fixing temperature control and timing of updating an electric power value, in a fixing device using control comprised of a combination of phase control and wave number control. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device 23 which has the first control pattern comprised of the combination of the phase control and the wave number control with four full wave of an AC source as a control cycle and the second control pattern comprised of only the phase control with one full wave as the control cycle, and executes control by combining the first control pattern and the second control pattern so as to reduce the time difference between switching timing and timing of updating the electric power value of the first control pattern or the second control pattern when switching the power supply. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
