381,096. Golf cups for holes. HERBERT, A. F., 6, West Smithfield, London. March 24, 1932, No. 8792. [Class 132 (ii).] A device for use in golf holes for putting greens comprises a cylindrical liner 2 provided with an inner removable cup-shaped member 5 that may be removed and replaced in inverted position (i.e. the position shown) so that its base 6 is held in substantially the same plane as the ground encircling the hole for the purpose of forming a cover for the hole. When acting as a cover the cup-shaped member rests on lugs 8 pressed inwardly from the liner, but in its normal position the base 6 rests on a cross-bar 3, the lugs passing through apertures 9 in the member, so that the mouth of the member is flush with the mouth of the liner. The lower edge of the liner is serrated for the purpose of cutting the hole in the green. Apertures are formed in the cup-shaped member and in the cross-bar to receive the flag pin.
|
