The system has a transmission circuit (1) with a power frequency converter that converts direct current into high frequency alternating current. A small reception circuit including a smoothing capacitor (3) and voltage smoothing- and control electronics is connected to a mobile small appliance over a plug-in adapter (8). A small permanent magnet is present in the transmission and reception circuits, which have respective ferrite core coils (6, 7). The reception circuit charges a battery of the appliance via a cable or a network part. The transmission circuit is installed behind or in a wall.
