The engine has a combustion chamber (14), and a fuel injection system including liquid fuel injectors (30) leading into the combustion chamber. An air inlet conduit (20) is connected with the combustion chamber, and a turbocharger (38) is arranged in the air inlet conduit. A gas supply system includes outlets leading into the air inlet conduit and includes a liquefied gas fuel injector (36) leading between the turbocharger and the combustion chamber in the air inlet conduit. The gas supply system is formed as a liquefied gas injection system.
