POWER DETECTION METHOD AND BASE STATION BASED ON DISCONTINUOUS TRANSMISSION

A power detection method and a base station based on the Discontinuous Transmission (DTX) are provided by the embodiments of the present invention. The present invention relates to the field of communication technology, aiming to detect the power occupied by valid frames directly and conveniently under the condition that the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) has activated the DTX. The method includes that: counting the quantity of the downlink valid frames and the total quantity of the downlink frames in a measurement period (S101); calculating the ratio of said downlink valid frames in said total quantity of the downlink frames (S102); calculating the power occupied by said downlink valid frames according to said ratio. The method also includes that: counting the quantity of the uplink valid frames and the total quantity of the uplink frames in the measurement period; calculating the ratio of said uplink valid frames in said total quantity of the uplink frames; calculating the power occupied by said uplink valid frames according to said ratio. The technical schemes provided by the embodiments of the present invention can be widely applied to communication systems such as GSM.
