METHOD FOR PRODUCING TETRAFLUOROBORATE

Disclosed is a method for producing a tetrafluoroborate wherein a tetrafluoroborate can be efficiently produced at a high yield by a continuous process.  An electrolyte solution containing a tetrafluoroborate and an electricity storage element comprising the electrolyte solution are also disclosed.  The method for producing a tetrafluoroborate is characterized by comprising: a first step wherein a boron trifluoride gas is dissolved into an organic solvent; a second step wherein a fluoride (MFn, wherein M represents a metal or NH4 and 1 = n = 3) in an amount stoichiometrically equivalent to or less than the amount of the boron trifluoride is added into the organic solvent, thereby producing a solution of a tetrafluoroborate; and a third step wherein the solution of a tetrafluoroborate is circulated back to the first step, so that the boron trifluoride gas is dissolved into the solution of a tetrafluoroborate instead of being dissolved into the organic solvent.
