The method involves providing a cutting tool (10) having a working end (14) terminated by a free end (15) and with helical teeth (16, 18, 20, 22). The tool having a flexion vibration natural frequency is rotated at a rotating frequency. The rotating frequency equal to the natural frequency divided by n times the number of teeth is selected. A length of the working end corresponding to a milling depth (ap) is engaged through a solid material. The depth higher than or equal to p times a spiral step divided by the number of teeth is selected, where p and n are natural integers. An independent claim is also included for a cutting tool for high-speed milling of a solid material. |
