Cooking surface with several independent cooking elements

The cooktop has a central strong power boiling plate (F1) and low power boiling plates (F2-F4) associated with control units (C1-C4) controlling heating power of the boiling plates and associated with detection units (D1-D4) . The detection units detect cooking containers placed at a right side of the boiling plates, where the heating power associated to the boiling plates is equal to a predefined value. The control units are adapted to control operation of the boiling plates based on heating power when the each cooking container is detected at the right side of the boiling plates. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a cooktop.
