<p>The invention relates to a method for producing free carboxylic acids, comprising the following method steps: A) production of the carboxylic acid by a biological cell present in an aqueous medium by adding an amine of general formula (I) in which R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are the same or different, branched or unbranched, optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals or H; B) in case the amine added in method step A) is water-soluble, addition of a water-insoluble amine of general formula (I), wherein a multiphase system is obtained in method step A) or B) and the water-insoluble amine and the carboxylic acid produce the corresponding ammonium carboxylate; C) separation of the water-insoluble phase; and D) heating the water-insoluble phase while releasing free carboxylic acid.</p> |
