A MOLECULAR MARKER AND GENETIC METHOD FOR DETECTION OF ALBINO IN BOS TAURUS COREANAE

PURPOSE: A DNA marker for predicting and determining genetic variation which is a cause of albino(achromia,albinism) is provided to select and trace carrier containing genetic defect. CONSTITUTION: A molecular marker for selecting Hanwoo(Korean beef) albino is a polynucleotide having 20th base of DNA of sequence number 1 or complementary polynucleotide thereof. A kit for determining Hanwoo albino factor contains the polynucleotide of sequence number 1. A primer for determining Hanwoo albino factor has a base sequence of sequence number 2 or 3. The kit also contains the primer. A method for determining Hanwoo(Bos taurus coreanae) TYR gene mutation comprises: a step of extracting DNA from a subject; a step of amplifying DNA using a primer of sequence numbers 2 and 3; a step of treating the amplified gene with Mspl; and a step of confirming the product by electrophoresis.
