FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves grinding cellulose nitrate, determination of optical density and calculation of nitrogen content from a pre-plotted calibration curve, where 1-3 mg cellulose nitrate is mixed with potassium bromide and the mixture is pressed. The obtained tablets undergo photometering. Mathematical processing of the spectra is carried out, involving selection of spectral profile curves represented by a set of separate Gaussian strips. Absorption band intensity is determined at frequency =1280 cm-1 or =1660 cm-1, and nitrogen content is calculated. ^ EFFECT: simple process of determining content of nitrogen in cellulose nitrate owing to easy implementation, rapidness, avoiding the need to use toxic reagents. ^ 1 ex, 2 tbl |
