摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Nb<SB>3</SB>Al superconductive multicore wire rod, which can be increased in length by suppressing breaking in drawing processing while maintaining high Jc characteristic. SOLUTION: The Nb<SB>3</SB>Al multicore superconductive wire rod is manufactured by radially reducing and thermally treating an Nb/Al composite multi wire rod in which a plurality of Nb/Al precursor single wires 21-25 each including a barrier layer 6 of Nb, Ta, Nb alloy or Ta alloy provided on the outer circumferential surface of an Nb/Al laminated wire rod manufactured by winding an Nb sheet and Al sheet together are incorporated within a metal pipe together with a central dummy material to be arranged at the center of the pipe. The thickness of the barrier layer 6 of each Nb/Al precursor single wire 21-25 disposed within a cross section of the Nb/Al composite multi wire rod is not constant within the cross section of the Nb/Al composite multi wire rod, and the thickness of the barrier layer 6 of the Nb/Al precursor single wire 21 located on the outer circumferential part of the central dummy material 13 at the center of the Nb/Al composite multi wire rod is larger.
