PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker in which an excess current trip element is set closer to a power supply without changing a volume of the excess current trip element. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes a handle having a grip that is fixed to a handle arm to project from an enclosure, and a slide plate which includes a hole allowing the grip to penetrate therethrough and is of an arcuate shape almost identical with the shape of a collar of the handle. The slide plate includes a projected portion formed on a part that is perpendicular to the direction of rotation of the slide plate in an opening edge forming the hole, and an engaging portion in which the collar is housed is formed.
