PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rotation plastic working equipment capable of continuing to operate a vertical rotation plastic working device and a robot without stopping plastic working of a material to be worked to the extent possible while keeping safety of an operator even if the operator works in a workroom so as to prevent drop in production efficiency, and a method of operating the equipment. SOLUTION: The rotation plastic working equipment includes, in the workroom separated via a partition, the vertical rotation plastic working device capable of accessing a working region through both the front and the rear of a machine body, and the robot capable of supplying/collecting the material to be worked to/from the working region on one of the front and the rear. An access door on the opposite side through which the operator can access the working region from the other side is provided on the partition. A first detecting means for detecting an open/close state of the access door on the opposite side is provided. A control means is provided, which controls to stop the operation of the vertical rotation plastic working device and the robot when a signal indicating that the access door on the opposite side is open is received from the first detecting means.
