The entry information sequence includes m-pieces of entry information corresponding to m directory entries among n directory entries contained in the directory entry sequence. In each entry information, name information of the directory entry and arrangement position information which indicates the arrangement position of the directory entry in the directory entry sequence, are described. An entry information retrieval unit (102) detects entry information corresponding to a file or directory which is a retrieval target, from the entry information sequence. A directory entry accessing unit (106) detects directory entry corresponding to the retrieval target from the directory entry sequence, with reference to the arrangement position information of the detected entry information.
