PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aliphatic-aromatic copolymer petroleum resin composition and having excellent storage stability, in particular, generating no gelatinous substance during storage, and causing little aging change in resin physical properties, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: After an aliphatic-aromatic copolymer petroleum resin with an olefinic double bond hydrogen area ratio of 11% or less in a proton NMR spectrum is obtained by using a mixture of a fraction with a boiling point range 20-110°C and a fraction with a boiling point range 140-280°C in thermal cracking of petroleum as a material oil, the copolymer petroleum resin is mixed with a hindered amine compound inside a mixing apparatus at a specific oxygen concentration.
