METHOD FOR A USER TERMINAL TO RANDOM ACCESS A CARRIER AGGREGATION MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Disclosed is a method by which a user terminal carries out a process for random access to a base station in a carrier aggregation mobile communication system which performs communications using a plurality of component carriers (CCs), and to a terminal device for the method. The method considers an uplink grant signal to be a contention resolution message only when the uplink grant signal is received through a downlink CC which corresponds to the downlink CC used in a random access preamble transmission and/or in a third message transmission, to thereby prevent an erroneous contention resolution process from being ended when the user equipment receives the uplink grant signal from the base station in carrying out a contention-based random access process in a carrier aggregation mobile communication system.
