PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving technique to enhance light emission efficiency by devising a driving method, and also to improve display quality (display irregularity), in a plasma display device such as a plasma television (PDP-TV) using a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The plasma display device has the plasma display panel provided with at least a plurality of discharge cells having a pair of sustain electrodes to perform at least sustain discharge for light emission display The sustain discharge light emission in a single cell includes a waveform having at least two peaks, and height relation of the two peaks is temporally reversed.
