The arrangement has multiple light conductors for coupling lateral light, where a portion of the light conductors is arranged at a lower side of a passenger seat. The conductors determine the lateral light that prevails in preferred directions, where direction of light emission exhibits a portion of the light conductors on a bottom of a passenger cabin of a rail vehicle and on an emergency exit of a passenger. The light conductors are impinged by LEDs with light of a wavelength or multiple of wave lengths.
