<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of maintaining the CO concentration in reformed gas low in a load variation in a reformer. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system 1A has the reformer 23 for generating hydrogen-rich gas by reforming original fuel, a CO selecting oxidizer 27 for reducing carbon monoxide included in the hydrogen-rich gas by oxidation reaction, a heat exchanger 26 adjusted to the temperature suitable for the oxidation reaction of the carbon monoxide, and a fuel cell 10, and has a combustor 22 for heating the original fuel introduced to the reformer 23.
