<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proliferation auxiliary increasing the proliferation rate of a neural stem cell, having a low anticoagulant activity and safe even when administered into the body of a patient or accumulated in the body. <P>SOLUTION: The proliferation auxiliary is a glycosaminoglycan in which the 6-position of D-glucosamine constituting a heparin is substantially desulfated and has ≤50 s APTT (activated partial thromboplastin time) when measurement is made by adding the glycosaminoglycan to the standard plasma at 30 μg/ml final concentration and ≤100 s, more preferably ≤80 s APTT when the measurement is made by adding the glycosaminoglycan at 100 μg/ml final concentration.
