[Class 84.] In a pulsator for milking machines of the kind comprising two connected pistons e, e<1> reciprocated by suction and controlled by a valve i that is moved by the pistons as they near either end of their stroke through a resilient engaging device, the valve i is positioned in a central chamber covered only by a readily removable lid t<2> affording free access to the valve. The pulsator block a is placed on the milking pail and is provided with a nipple b connected to suction. The suction is transmitted through a conduit a<1> to a central conduit a<2> which is alternately connected by the valve i to the conduits a<3>, a<4> communicating respectively through the conduits a<5>, a<6> with the ends of the cylinders c, c<1>, the conduit a<3> or a<4> which is not under suction being open to atmospheric pressure through a port il or i<2> in the valve. The upper surface of the piston i is provided with inclined portions i<5>, i<6> and is engaged by a V-shaped member h<1> carried either by a blade spring h or a spring-loaded lever mounted on the piston connecting rod g. The teat cups are connected in pairs to nipples n communicating with conduits o alternately connected to a suction conduit m by a valve l actuated by the piston rod g through a pin and slot connection. The pistons e, e<1> are connected to the piston rod g by means of screws or rivets s secured to the pistons and having endwise play in slots in the piston rod.
