The invention relates to an electric lamp, comprising at least one lamp retainer (1) and at least one light source (2) arranged at an end of the lamp retainer (1). The energy supply for the light source (2) is provided inside the end of the hollow lamp retainer (1) opposite the light source (2). The light source (2) is arranged inside the lamp retainer (1) in a light source retainer (4). A light cap (5) composed of a transparent material such as glass and/or plastic is arranged at the end of the lamp retainer at which the light exits. The light cap (5) has a centrical hole, preferably a blind hole (7), at the surface facing the light source (2). A preferably elongated optical waveguide (8), which protrudes into the centrical hole of the light cap (5), is arranged above the light source (2).
