PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic reel device reduced in the lateral dimension, formed in a simple and reasonable structure, and manufacturable at low cost. SOLUTION: This automatic reel device winds up or delivers an article to be wound by automatically rotating a reel 10. The reel device comprises a rotating shaft 20 serving as the axis of rotation of the reel 10, a reel holding part 30 installed integrally rotatable with the rotating shaft 20 and holding the reel 10, a bearing part 40 supporting the rotating shaft 20, a base part 42 supporting the reel holding part 30 through the rotating shaft 20 by supporting the bearing part 40, and a rotatingly driving means 50 installed on the base part 42 and rotating the reel 10 through the reel holding part 30 by directly transmitting a drive force to the reel holding part 30.
