The device has a shutter (1) movable between a closing position, in which the shutter covers a judas hole (J) in a door (P), and an observation position in which the shutter releases the judas hole. A case (2) delimits an inner volume (22) arranged between a front wall (21) of the case and the door in operational configuration. The shutter has a gripping unit (12) projected from an outer face (212) of the wall via a circular arc slot. An opening is formed in the wall with respect to the hole. The opening is closed by the shutter in the closing position and released in the observation position. The case is made of cut and folded metal plate.
