摘要 A master cylinder (14) includes a first piston (73), a second piston (83), and a cylinder (15) for axially slidably housing the first and second pistons (73, 83).  A first hydraulic chamber (71) has a path (77) communicating with a reservoir (26).  When the first piston (73) moves by a first stroke distance, the communication between the first hydraulic chamber (71) and the reservoir is interrupted to generate hydraulic pressure.  Likewise, a second hydraulic chamber (81) has a path (87) communicating with the reservoir (26).  When the second piston (83) moves by a second stroke distance less than the first stroke distance, the communication between the second hydraulic chamber (81) and the reservoir is interrupted to generate hydraulic pressure.  A stroke simulator (24) communicates with the second hydraulic chamber (81).  When a brake pedal is operated, the second piston (83) moves first.
