PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of drive mistakes caused by the tailgating of a following vehicle. SOLUTION: When a drive support control section 34 detects the tailgating of a succeeding vehicle from an output of a vehicular gap sensor 1, the control section automatically controls a rearward visibility varying part 3 to vary rearward visibility by a room mirror 2 from a normal state and prevent a driver from seeing a succeeding vehicle and feeling anxious or impatient. Also, the control section instructs a retreating place search and guiding part 18 of an in-vehicle navigator 10 to search for and guide a retreating place, uses a current position and current azimuth data and road data to search for the retreating place ahead of the road on which the vehicle drives, and guides the vehicle by an image and a voice. Thus, the driver does not need to drive a vehicle while looking for the retreating place. Moreover, a sound alarm 4 and an optical system alarm 5 are driven to issue alarms to the succeeding vehicle and to promote safe drive. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
