<p>A method for updating electronic service guide (ESG) information is disclosed in the present invention. The method includes the steps of: obtaining an ESG basic description table from a received control multiplex frame; determining data blocks to be updated according to data block identifiers corresponding to the ESG information in the obtained ESG basic description table and a cached ESG basic description table, and according to the version numbers of the data blocks corresponding to the data block identifiers; updating the data blocks to be updated; and covering the cached ESG basic description table with the obtained ESG basic description table. A device for updating ESG information is also disclosed in the present invention, and includes a control information reception module, a table obtaining module, a cache module, a first determination module and an updating module. Use of the method and device in the present invention can improve the updating efficiency of ESG information.</p> |
