PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure a sealing property even at a high working angle without causing a phase shift of a boot relative to an outer ring. SOLUTION: The constant velocity universal join includes an outer ring 10 having an opening 11 at one end and a plurality of track grooves 12 formed at the inner circumferential surface to extend in the axial direction; and a tripod member 20 which transmits torque while allowing angle displacement through a roller 30 disposed between it and each track groove 12 of the outer ring 10 where a major diameter end 42 of a cylindrical boot 40 closing the opening 11 of the outer ring 10 is installed on the outer circumferential surface of the opening of the outer ring 10. A rib 41 is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the major diameter end 42 of the boot 40 to protrude radially inwardly over the whole circumference in the circumferential direction and abut on an opening end surface 13 of the outer ring 10, and a protruding part 43 is formed in a portion corresponding to the track groove 12 in the rib 41 to extend toward the opening of the boot and abut on the inner circumferential surface 15 of the opening of the outer ring 10.
