摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which can discriminate a fluorescence area included in an image with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 1-1 includes an irradiation means 10 having an R-color light source, a G-color light source and a B-color light source, and an imaging means 20 which has sensitivity to light of any of the light sources and outputs color image data of the medium based upon light from the medium S, and outputs color image data based upon RGB color data of the imaging means. Further, the image reading apparatus includes a fluorescence image data generation means of generating fluorescence image data including the fluorescence area emitting light of a second wavelength range of the visible range different from a first wavelength range different from R-color light of the visible light on receiving light of the first wavelength range, and optical sensors 51 and 52 which can receive the light from the medium, output signals indicating reception states of the light from the medium, and have higher sensitivity to the light of the second wavelength range than to the light of the first wavelength range, and the fluorescence image data generation means generates the fluorescence image data based upon the outputs of the optical sensors when the light source which emits the light of the first wavelength range is turned on.
