PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of malodor from dissolving soap stored in a soap container by preventing water or dissolving soap from being retained if a lid is disposed under a container body, and to keep the soap container always in a clean state. SOLUTION: The soap container includes the container body 1 composed of a bottom plate 11 and a side plate 12 around the bottom plate. The lid 2 composed of a top plate 21 and a side plate 22 around the top plate is attached to the top of the container body 1 to store soap inside the container body 1. The lower end face 17 of the side plate 12 of the container body 1 is formed in such a shape as to match the shape of the surface in the peripheral edge 23 of the top plate 21 of the lid 2, and the lower end face 17 of the side plate 12 of the container body 1 can be fitted to the peripheral edge 23 of the top plate 21 of the lid body 2, so that the lid 2 can be disposed under the container body 1.
