A cart stop (101) suitable for use with a lift platform (120) is described. The cart stop (101) has a closed position which allows a cart or other wheeled device (1222) to move over it. The cart stop (101) also has an open position which prevents the cart or other wheeled device (1222) from rolling off of the lift platform (120).
