摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upwelling-current-generation submarine artificial bank which can make effective use of a space in the submarine artificial bank and which can eliminate factors responsible for lack of nutritive salts of a submarine bottom layer stream. SOLUTION: The upwelling-current-generation submarine artificial bank is provided with a steel pipe truss structure 100 and at least two shielding plates 130. The steel pipe truss structure 100 consists of three main steel pipes 110 and a plurality of connecting members 120. The three main steel pipes 110 are each arranged so that they correspond with three ridges in the axial direction of a virtual triangular prism, and the plurality of connecting members 120 connect the main steel pipes 110 with one another. The shielding plates 130 are extended on the outer peripheral surface or in the interior of the steel pipe truss structure 100 in the axial direction of the main steel pipes 110, and have surface angles which are different from each other. A space is formed by joining a steel plate 114 to the end of the main steel pipe 110, and steel slag or a material 3 containing the steel slag is filled into the internal space of the main steel pipe 110. Then one or more openings 116, out of which the steel slag or the material 3 containing the steel slag does not fall, are provided to the main steel pipe 110 and/or the steel plate 114 at the end.
