The component comprises a substrate surface, which is made of zinc or zinc alloy and on which a chromate layer is applied, where particles made of silicon oxide and/or particles made of titanium oxide are embedded in the chromate layer and are exposed to the surface of the component. The chromate layer is free of chromium (VI). The substrate surface is formed by a galvanized layer, which is applied to the metallic component material (12) such as steel or stainless steel. The surface of the component is provided with a surface seal, which consists of silicone solid resin. The component comprises a substrate surface, which is made of zinc or zinc alloy and on which a chromate layer is applied, where particles made of silicon oxide and/or particles made of titanium oxide are embedded in the chromate layer and are exposed to the surface of the component. The chromate layer is free of chromium (VI). The substrate surface is formed by a galvanized layer, which is applied to the metallic component material (12) such as steel or stainless steel. The surface of the component is provided with a surface seal, which consists of silicone solid resin, into which the hydrophobic silicic acid and/or hydrophobic aluminum oxide are incorporated. The surface seal additionally contains Aeroxide(RTM: Very fine fumed metal oxide with a high specific surface area) LE1 and/or LE2. The particles are implemented as nanoparticles. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a corrosion protection coating on a substrate surface made of zinc or zinc alloy.
