摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a rectifier using normally-on-type transistors can not short an input of a power converter and a bus capacitor, when the power converter starts or fails. SOLUTION: There is provided the power converter having the rectifier having at least one switching leg wherein two transistors (T1, T2) connected in series with each other are provided. The transistors are normally-on-field effect types, e.g., JFETs, and are controlled by gate control devices (CT1, CT2), respectively. Each gate control device, particularly, has its output connected with a gate G of a controlling transistor, a voltage rectifying element connected between an output of the control device and an input in1 of the power converter, and a capacitor C11 connected between a source S of the transistor and a point which is positioned between the output of the control device and the voltage rectifying element.
