摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which discriminates a fluorescence area included in an image with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 1-1 includes an irradiation means 10 of irradiating a medium S with visible light, and an imaging means 20 including an R-color imaging unit 21 which outputs R-color data as image data of an R color of an image of the medium based upon light incident from the medium, a G-color imaging unit 22 which outputs G-color data, and a B-color imaging unit 23 which outputs B-color data, and generates color image data based upon the R-color data, G-color data and B-color data. Further, the image reading apparatus includes a predetermined light source 12 which irradiates the medium with light of a first wavelength range G different from that of the R color in the visible light, and a fluorescence image data generation means of generating fluorescence image data including the fluorescence area emitting light of a second wavelength range R of the visible range different from the first wavelength range on receiving the light of the first wavelength range based upon the light of the second wavelength range R, and the fluorescence image data generation means generates the fluorescence image data based upon predetermined color data corresponding to the second wavelength range during lighting of the predetermined light source.
