PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ozone generating apparatus having high reliability, which can prevent a glass tube from breaking due to melting of a power feeding brush, even when a large short-circuit current flows. SOLUTION: The ozone generating apparatus includes a cylindrical metal tube concentrically disposed outside a cylindrical glass tube having a metal film formed on its inner wall, in which an AC high voltage is applied between the metal film and the metal tube from an AC high-voltage power supply, so as to discharge a gas containing oxygen which flows through a gap between the glass tube and the metal tube to generate ozone. In the apparatus, power supply from the AC high-voltage power supply to the metal film on the inner wall of the glass tube is carried out through a power feeding brush comprising a metal brush shaft and a large number of metal thin wires fixed around the brush shaft. The number N of the metal thin wires per unit length of the brush shaft, the wire diameter d of the metal thin wires, the outer diameter D1 of the bundle of metal thin wires formed of the large number of metal thin wires, and the outer diameter D2 of the brush shaft are controlled to satisfy (D2/D1)≥1/[1+(1/20β)], whereinβdefined byβ=N×d<SP>2</SP>/(4×D2) represents the line density of the metal thin wires on the brush shaft surface.
