摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a situation as much as possible in which deposits are adhered or accumulated to a fuel injection valve, in a control system for an internal combustion engine provided with the fuel injection valve for injecting a fuel into an intake port, and an EGR passage for introducing an EGR gas from an exhaust passage to the intake port. <P>SOLUTION: The control system of the internal combustion engine includes a fuel injection valve for injecting a fuel into an intake passage, an EGR mechanism having the EGR passage for introducing the EGR gas from the exhaust passage to the intake passage proximate to the fuel injection valve, and an air-cooling mechanism for blasting cooling air to the EGR passage. In the control system, when an accumulation amount &Sigma;EGR of the EGR gas introduced to the intake passage by the EGR mechanism reaches the predetermined upper limit amount &alpha; (S103), the EGR gas is cooled by activating the cooling mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
