<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED illumination circuit that reduces an operating current in a non-illumination period of an LED. <P>SOLUTION: The LED illumination circuit generates an illumination start signal as a trigger for the start of LED illumination and a standby trigger signal as a trigger for the start of LED extinction, and stops oscillating a clock signal necessary for circuit operation and stops a clock oscillator which supplies the clock signal, a function generating circuit which sets an LED driving current based upon an illumination pattern, and a constant current driver circuit which supplies the LED driving current to the LED from operating during an extinction period (standby period) of the LED from the generation of the standby trigger signal to the re-generation of the illumination start signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
