PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming device which restrains uneven scraping of a lubricant due to a brush, and uneven application of the lubricant to an image carrier, and broadens flexibility in selecting of a brush member. SOLUTION: The image-forming device includes an image carrier which carries a toner image formed on its external peripheral surface; a transfer means which electrostatically transfers the toner image on the image carrier to a transfer-receiving body; a lubricant-scraping means which scrapes a lubricant from the surface of a cylindrical lubricant which is driven rotativelyso as to apply the lubricant onto the surface of the image carrier posterior to transferring by the transfer means; and a lubricant-applying means which makes the lubricant, which is scraped by the lubricant-scraping means, adhere to a rotatively driven brush for applying the lubricant on the surface of the image carrier.
