PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening device which is excellent in maintainability of a ventilation mechanism. SOLUTION: The opening device is provided with a frame body and a "shoji". The frame body is provided along the opening of a building, and the "shoji" is arranged inside the direction of the face of the frame body. The "shoji" is provided with a glass panel and a frame which is provided so that it can cover the outer edge of the glass panel. A ventilating opening which is opened in the depth direction is provided to the frame, and the part of the frame to which the ventilating opening is provided has a piece on the interior side, a piece on the exterior side, and a panel-covering piece. The piece on the interior side faces the interior side in the depth direction, and the piece on the exterior side faces the exterior side in the depth direction. The panel-covering piece covers the outer edge of the glass panel, and either the piece on the interior side or the piece on the exterior side can be attached and detached.
