PURPOSE: A mobile terminal for information protection and a method for protecting information in a mobile terminal are provided to identify stolen and lost mobile terminals actively and intelligently and to determine whether a current user is a valid user in a mobile terminal, thereby effectively protecting the information of a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal compares the intrinsic behavior pattern of a user with a current behavior pattern(360). If a similarity between the intrinsic behavior pattern and the current behavior pattern is high, the mobile terminal determines a current user as a valid user(370). The mobile terminal hides or deletes data requested by the user(381). The mobile terminal transmits a notification message to an external side(382).
