The device (1) has a foil detachably arranged around a pipe, and a frame attached to the pipe. The frame has lower and upper parts (2, 4) with lower and upper welding plates, respectively. The upper part is rotatably supported at an end of the frame. A pressing unit is arranged at the upper part for pressing the upper welding plate against edges of the foil. A locking unit is arranged at another end of the frame for locking the upper part with the lower part. The pressing unit has a pressing plate (19) that is raised and lowered relative to the upper part. An independent claim is also included for a method for welding longitudinal edges of a shrink sleeve. |
