PURPOSE: A brake device for a bicycle is provided to enable a user to easily manipulate a brake device in emergency situation, since the user simply rotates the handle to control the same. CONSTITUTION: A brake device for a bicycle comprises a handle(100), an operating unit, a braking unit(400), and a cable(300). The handle comprises a handle post(20) vertically fixed to one end of a supporting frame(10). The operating unit comprises a turning member, a slider, a housing, and a return unit. The turning member is fixed to the handle. The slider is screwed in the turning member. The slider is mounted inside the housing to move in a reciprocating motion.
