LCD BACKLIGHT UNIT USING LEDS

PURPOSE: An LCD backlight unit using LEDs is provided to accurately and efficiently detect the malfunction in each channel by further including the configuration which enables the electric detection of malfunction. CONSTITUTION: Plural LEDs(100) irradiates light to the each division region on a rear portion of an LCD panel. An LED driving unit(200) drives plural LEDs by each division region. A local dimming control unit(300) controls the operation of the LED driving unit by controlling the local dimming of the LED driving unit. A controller outputs a malfunction detection signal by comparing the sensed value with LED lighting information.
